Suits a skinny arm! March 10, 2009 P. B. Sharp (Las Cruces, NM) 58 out of 59 found this review helpful
I had been using an Omron HM 780 for about two years and had nothing against it except for the fact the arm- cuff is thick and rigid and never seemed to get really tight around my thin arm.
Although the 712C model does not have as many features as the 780 one, it warns of the all-important irregular heart beat. Many of the features of the 780 I don't feel I need.
I compared readings from the two models and they were very close, but I feel more comfortable with the 712C's flexible arm-cuff. The maximum circumference of your arm for this unit is 13 inches so if your arm is muscular or heavy you will not be able to use this cuff. Be sure to select the box for the 9" to 13" cuff as you will pay much more for the larger cuff which is also available.
The 712C model is very reasonable in price, some $23.00 less than the 780, so if it can accommodate your arm and if you don't need all the advanced features I heartily recommend it over the more expensive one.
One caveat: the 712C does not come with an AC adapter or the required four AA batteries. I was able to use the adapter from the 780 set, but the unit will run fine on the batteries alone.
The Omron 712C is a very nice unit at a remarkably low price. Just bear in mind that the low price is for the smaller cuff only.
Doctor recommended January 5, 2007 D. Grieco (Rocky Hill, CT USA) 31 out of 31 found this review helpful
My doctor recommended I purchase this product and was asked to bring it in to establish its accuracy. He tested it and it passed with flying colors! It was extremely accurate when compared to his office blood pressure unit. I highly recommend this product.
Works good for me January 16, 2008 Ujjwal Kundra 15 out of 16 found this review helpful
Initially I was a little skeptical about buying an automatic or a manual BP machine. The automatic is usually associated with errors and a manual requires a second person measuring your BP.
Finally opting for a aumatic one, dilema shifted to whether to buy the latest model or a cheaper one. I finally decided to buy this one to balance all out.
The higher models have those special cuffs, memory, etc features which I didn't think were very usefull for me. Having an average arm, this cuff fits me well and comfortable.
I tested it with different people and haven't seen erronious reading.
Just apply the cuff as suggested in the manuals and let the monitor do its work. The readings have been consistant and mostly correct.
I would recommend to all who donot prefer the manual monitor and don't want to spend extra money on 'just extra' features.
My two thumbs up for this product.
Easy to use February 8, 2007 Ann (Cape Cod) 16 out of 18 found this review helpful
This is a very easy to use piece of equipment. It's also accurate compared to my doctor's office device. If you need or want a blood pressure monitor, you should seriously consider this one.

Well made, easy to use and seems accurate. A lot of value for the price.
